For the fifth consecutive year, the New Jersey Jazz Society has been the recipient of a grant from Morris Arts to help fund our Jazz Socials.
Our last in-person Social was a performance by alto saxophonist Alex Laurenzi in February 2020 at Shanghai Jazz in Madison, NJ. Since the onset of the pandemic, we have transitioned to Virtual Socials, viewable on the NJJS Facebook page. Among artists who have performed virtually are pianist/vocalist Champian Fulton; guitarists Dave Stryker, Charlie Apicella, Frank Vignola, and Vinny Raniolo; pianists Nat Adderley, Jr., Eric Mintel, and James Austin, Jr.; and vocalist Alexis Morrast.

We are proud to be one of 28 arts organizations helped by this funding, made possible through the Local Arts Program of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
Morris Arts, located in Morristown, NJ, is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1973 that works to build community through the arts. Using the arts to inspire, connect, and engage, Morris Arts serves a resource for Morris County with a special focus on arts programming in the community and in the schools, arts advocacy, creative placemaking and support of the Morris area community of artists and arts organizations.
