February 18 @ 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Calling all instrumentalists / vocalists … This month’s jazz social is an Old Fashioned Jam Session/Open Mic. Come out and strut your stuff to an attentive audience. All are welcome – bring your instrument(s) play, and vocalists we’d love to hear you sing.
Please register in advance – Carrie Jackson, VP Music Programming at email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The “house band” will be the Dave Braham Trio w/ Belden Bullock, bass; Greg Bufford, drms. Dave plays a swinging piano and a soulful Hammond B3 organ in the tradition of Jack McDuff, Groove Holmes and Jimmy Smith – he is one of the most underrated and one of the best jazz organists on the scene today. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dave has carved out a solid reputation playing as a featured sideman with Houston Person, Etta Jones, Willis Gatortail Jackson, Mark Murphy, Johnny Lytle, Irene Reid, Al Grey, Ernestine Anderson, and David Fathead Newman.
